The Breakdown:
This project includes a 27,000 sf addition at Gaines Elementary School, featuring new classrooms, gang bathrooms, a professional learning area, and a stage within the existing gymnasium. The scope also involves rerouting underground utilities to support the new construction and installing a full-building roof replacement.
The team anticipates completing the additions and re-roofing ahead of Summer Break, then transitioning to the renovation of approximately 70,000 sf of the existing school. Renovation work will also include updated finishes to align with the new additions, kitchen enhancements, and upgraded gymnasium features, including new sports equipment and athletic flooring.
